1. Our products
Cut Clay Love creates downloadable pottery templates and educational resources for slab-built ceramics.
Products may include:
- printable PDF and JPG templates
- written instructions and guides
- video tutorials
- pottery tips, reference material and other digital resources.
Unless clearly stated otherwise, all products sold through this website are digital products only. No physical item will be shipped.
Please read the individual product description before purchasing to ensure the template, dimensions, file type and project are suitable for you.
2. Digital delivery
Digital products are generally made available after successful payment.
Depending on the website platform, you may receive your files through a download page, customer account, confirmation email or download link.
You are responsible for providing a correct email address and ensuring that you have suitable internet access, software and equipment to access or print the files.
If you have difficulty receiving or accessing your purchase, please contact us and we will do our best to help.
3. Printing and sizing
Cut Clay Love templates are designed to be printed according to the instructions supplied with the product.
Where a template specifies 100% or actual-size printing, printer settings can affect the finished size. Always check the supplied scale or measurements before cutting your clay.
Ceramic clay also shrinks during drying and firing. Shrinkage varies according to clay body, firing temperature, construction, glaze and individual working methods.
Any finished measurements shown are therefore guides unless expressly stated otherwise.
4. Handmade results
Pottery is a handmade process and results will naturally vary.
The finished appearance, size, shape, strength and functionality of your piece can be affected by factors including:
- clay type
- slab thickness
- moisture level
- construction method
- drying
- firing schedule
- kiln conditions
- glaze
- clay shrinkage
- individual technique.
Purchasing a template does not guarantee that your finished ceramic piece will be identical to the example shown.
This does not affect any rights you may have if the digital product itself is faulty, incorrectly supplied or materially different from its description.
5. Licence to use Cut Clay Love templates
When you purchase a Cut Clay Love product, you are purchasing a licence to use the digital content. Ownership of the copyright and intellectual property does not transfer to you.
Unless otherwise stated, your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to:
- download and print the template for your own use;
- use the template repeatedly for your own pottery practice; and
- create finished handmade ceramic pieces from the template for personal use, gifting or small-scale commercial sale.
You may sell physical ceramic pieces that you personally make using a Cut Clay Love template.
You may not:
- sell, share, gift, distribute or upload the digital template or instructions;
- send copies of the files to another person;
- upload the files to file-sharing websites, social media groups or online communities;
- reproduce the template for resale;
- incorporate the template into another digital product, course, pattern or template collection;
- trace, redraw or recreate the template for the purpose of distributing or selling it;
- claim the template or instructional material as your own;
- commercially license the template to another business;
- use the template for mass manufacturing or large-scale commercial production without written permission from Cut Clay Love.
Each purchase is licensed to one purchaser.
Pottery studios, schools, workshops, teachers or other organisations wishing to distribute a template among multiple participants should contact Cut Clay Love about appropriate licensing.
6. Copyright and intellectual property
All Cut Clay Love templates, illustrations, instructions, videos, photographs, graphics, text, branding and other original material are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.
Except for the limited licence expressly granted above, all rights are reserved by Cut Clay Love.
Unauthorised reproduction, resale or distribution may result in the termination of your licence and, where appropriate, further action to protect our intellectual property.
7. Tutorials and educational information
Our tutorials, instructions and educational materials are provided to help you with your pottery practice.
They are not a substitute for appropriate studio training, kiln instruction, workplace safety procedures or manufacturer instructions.
Ceramic tools, kilns, chemicals, glazes and other materials can present risks if used incorrectly. You are responsible for following appropriate safety procedures and the instructions provided by manufacturers, studios and kiln operators.
Children should use pottery tools, equipment and materials only with appropriate adult supervision.
8. Prices and payment
Prices are displayed in the currency shown on the website.
Depending on your location, your bank or payment provider may apply currency conversion or international transaction fees.
Applicable GST, VAT, sales tax or other taxes may be added to or included in the purchase price where required by law or collected through our website or payment provider.
You are responsible for any taxes or charges that are legally payable by you, except where Cut Clay Love or a marketplace or payment provider is required to collect and remit them.
9. International purchases
Cut Clay Love is based in Australia and sells digital products to customers in multiple countries.
Customers may have rights under consumer protection laws in their country of residence.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, statutory right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
Where local mandatory consumer legislation gives you greater rights than these Terms, those mandatory rights will apply.
10. EU and EEA customers
Consumers in the European Union and European Economic Area may have a statutory right to withdraw from certain online purchases.
For digital content supplied immediately, that right may cease once supply begins where you have:
- expressly agreed that supply may begin during the withdrawal period; and
- acknowledged that beginning supply means losing your statutory right of withdrawal where applicable.
Where required, this consent will be requested during checkout.
Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights regarding digital content that is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to comply with applicable consumer law.
11. UK customers
UK customers may have statutory cancellation rights for distance contracts.
For digital downloads supplied immediately, you may lose the statutory cancellation right once downloading or access begins where you have expressly agreed to immediate supply and acknowledged that consequence.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights in relation to faulty or non-conforming digital content.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law where that law applies.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any guarantee, warranty, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
The ACCC expressly states that consumer guarantees are separate from a business's own refund or warranty policy and cannot be taken away by terms and conditions.
13. Refunds
Refunds and remedies are governed by our Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Because our products are digital, we generally do not provide refunds for change of mind after files have been supplied or accessed, except where required by law.
14. Website availability
We try to keep our website and digital downloads available and functioning correctly, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
Temporary technical interruptions, maintenance or circumstances beyond our reasonable control may occasionally prevent access.
If a technical problem prevents you from receiving a product you purchased, please contact us so we can assist you.
15. Third-party services
Our website may use third-party services such as payment processors, hosting providers, email services, video hosting platforms and analytics providers.
Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.
Links to third-party websites are provided for convenience and do not mean that Cut Clay Love controls or accepts responsibility for those websites.
16. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cut Clay Love is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our website, templates or educational content.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability arising under mandatory consumer protection legislation.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our products, website, business practices or legal obligations.
The latest version will be published on this website with the date of the most recent update.
Changes will not remove statutory rights you already have in relation to an existing purchase.
18. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
However, this does not prevent a consumer from relying on mandatory consumer protection laws that apply to them in their country or region and cannot lawfully be excluded by contract.
