Templates are supplied in US letter size but are formatted to fit within standard A4 margins. The template should be printed at 100% or Actual Size unless you want to change the size of your finished piece. For the most accurate results, I recommend downloading and printing your template from a computer rather than a phone or tablet.

Clay shrinks during drying and firing, and the amount varies depending on the clay you use. A shrinkage chart is included to help you adjust the template to suit your clay, follow the instructions to calculate the expected size after firing.

Most hand-building stoneware or earthenware clays will work well. You'll generally only need basic pottery tools such as a rolling pin, slab guides, cutting tool, scoring tool and brush. Any project-specific tools will be listed in the instructions.
